Autumn in Aldein

Autumn is the season for connoisseurs:

The restless tourist flows are over at the end of August and you can go there againQuiet enjoy our landscape. That is thebest time for hiking and enjoy the excellent cuisine in our beautiful alpine pastures.

Cattle drives: In the fall, the farmers bring their animals back home to the stable. With a great sense of tradition, the cows are driven off the pastures in September and the sheep are driven off the pastures in October. The dates for this can only be announced at short notice, as the animals are brought home sometimes earlier or later depending on the feed available in the pastures.

Hiking and mountaineering: The clear autumn air offers the best time for hiking.

Directly in the Bletterbach, around the Weißhorn and Schwarzhorn, or further to the Latemar, Karerpass and Rosengarten... a wide hinterland enables numerous wonderful hiking and mountain tours. To plan your hiking tours here or on  www.trekking.suedtirol.info

Golf: In 5 minutes you can reach the 18 hole course in Petersberg. The extensive area is located in the middle of forests and offers everything a golfer could dream of. Information about the area and prices can be found at www.golfclubpetersberg.it

Mountain biking: Numerous forestry and hiking trails enable short or long, easy or difficult tours. To plan your bike tours: www.mountainbiker.it, www.suedtiroler-mountainbikeguide.com, www.mountainbikeninsuedtirol.com. You can rent e-bikes in Aldein: information from the local tourist office or from us. Autumn at the Gridhof

We will also be bringing the T in the fallI slowly walk down from the alpine pastures to the farm. We gradually bring our animals down to the lower pastures. That's why it's important to constantly erect pasture fences in autumn and bring the animals to the next pasture and finally into the stable towards the end of October.

TheThe stable is prepared beforehand for the wintert, it will be cleaned and any necessary repairs will be done. We also bring the wood for our wood chip heating to the farm in the fall so that we are well prepared for the cold winter

Also theGarden is harvested and the dying plant remains are removed.

The hard times begin again for farmer Albert in autumnLumberjack work.

September to April: Lumberjack days: We cut down a tree(to be booked in advance, participation fee)
